The dreaded Away Bus.
It helps that the kids are upbeat. They like their lives up there. They're rooted in hope and optimism.
Us parents kept it together pretty well, too, but we're all feeling it.
Congrats, parents. We gave them what they need: a place and time where they know they are safe and very loved.
Hopefully any friction over the break was less than before; we'll work through it, because with our new perspectives, our love for them outshines all the clutter that comes with that congenital cohabitation.
May 2024 be awesome for them, our soaring birds.
