Not a question, just thanks.
In finding this FB Group I found a group of peers that I'll be sharing with over the next 4+ years and makes the distancing of my son far easier to deal with. He may not share much detail about his life there, but, through this group, I know that I'll feel like I have an idea of what he's going through, what goes unsaid. That's very comforting.
Immediately upon joining the group I felt an excitement as I could be part of an active dialog (instead of unilateral emails from "the institution").
The excitement has built through in-person Group events as well as attending SLO days.
Six weeks! OMG: that is a length of time that my brain understands. It's real! And we're starting to have those "last time before..." moments. It's getting real and getting a bit scary.
But I'm comforted that y'all are here. I expect a crescendo as WOW approaches. I feel comfort knowing that we are all here, together.
And I feel comfort that you veterans will help us newbs through. This babble was prompted by Traci's "3.0 is Awesome" today, once again providing detailed support before I knew I needed it (she's prescient).
Thank you, Traci, the other Admins, and the vets (and the newbs). Your support has already been amazing and our freshman haven't even left the house yet!
