Maybe we can nickname this group "The Ledge"?
Parents, when you're on the ledge, come here. We'll talk you back inside.
Don't panic alone. Don't grieve the absence of your Mustang alone. In some ways, in some things, it's harder on us Parents than on our Mustangs.
In addition to all the amazing logistics help and advice (and the fact that Traci Holmes Libby and the amazing moderators see the future and share what you need to know), we're a big emotional support group. It's not a side-hustle, it's a primary purpose.
When my only child headed up to SLO, it was the first time in my life I had been left behind (I was always the one leaving). I was completely unprepared for it. Thank God and Traci I didn't have to navigate it alone.
So join us for the Dates, Events, Upcoming Deadlines, SLO Hacks. Stay for the fellowship and the communal love of our Mustangs and each other.
Life throws all sorts of curveballs at you. Fate is fickle. This feels wild and out of control, but the roller coaster is secured to the track. It's scary in the moment; but of all the twists and turns in a long life, this one is very well designed, it's safe, and it's almost universally positively transformative.
You're amazing and capable. Perspective: you nurtured a HELPLESS INFANT to this launch point!!! Those former-infants are well-prepared, very capable and amazingly resilient.
You and they both SO GOT THIS!
But when you're on The Ledge and you need to be talked back inside, we're here for you. No need to do it alone.
This will be one of the most emotionally rich rides of your life. Make sure your lap belt is in place, raise your hands, squeal, and relish the intensity.
Go Mustangs and Go Mustang Parents! You got this.
